A well-known Altoona attorney has thrown his hat in the ring for Blair County Commissioner.

Terry Tomassetti announced Monday morning in front of a crown of family members and supporters, that he's seeking the Republican nomination in the spring primary. Tomasetti, who currently works as an Assistant Blair County District Attorney and operates his own law firm, has long been involved in local government and politics. He also hosts his own talk show on Altoona's cable access channel.

Tomassetti has been a member of the local legal community for the past 28 years, where his law practice has focused mainly on elder law, commercial real estate, and criminal and municipal law. He says he wants to use that experience coupled with his knowledge of county government, and his many community activities to bring change to Hollidaysburg.

Tomassetti is 100-percent against reassessment and says he would focus on finding a better way to generate revenues without impacting taxpayers. Tomassetti and his wife Kathleen have three children and they reside in Altoona.
